Hello, and welcome to my little space on the internet! You might see me sign off on my writing as E. E. Oregel. This pen name holds a bit of my story. The first E stands for Emma, an anglicized nickname of Zulema that I use to make it a little easier for non-Spanish speakers. The second E represents Espinoza, my husband’s last name, and Oregel is my family name. Together, E. E. Oregel reflects both my personal identity and the people closest to me.
I’m thrilled to share my creative writing journey with you. Here, I plan to dive into stories (mainly mine), cultures, and passions that have shaped me and influenced my world.
Who Am I?
I’m a cultural linguist who graduated from CalState Long Beach. As a linguist, I have worked in content, localizing text and media for global distribution and marketing. As a youngling, I have been fascinated by lore and fantasy, different cultures around the world and their mythologies, bridging my imagination, creativity, and love for famous Fantasy works such as: Lord of the Rings; Xena: The Warrior Princess; Willow; A Song of Ice and Fire; Harry Potter; the Mummy; The Witcher; and many more that I cannot name off the top of my head.
Over the years, I’ve grown to appreciate differing cultures, fusing together my background and my love for Aztec, Celtic, Purepecha, Roman/Greek, and Viking mythology, and offering a unique perspective on the impact of storytelling and culture.
Why I Started This Blog
I created this blog to share my journey in writing and worldbuilding, to explore the intersection of myth and culture, and to discuss the lessons I’ve learned along the way. Whether you’re here for writing inspiration, cultural insights, or to simply enjoy a new take on classic tales, I hope this blog becomes a place where creativity thrives and where we can learn from each other.
My Writing Journey
Writing has always been my way of understanding the world and connecting with others. It started with forums like Yahoo Answers, Tumbler, Ask.com, and Quora, and it has grown into a lifelong passion. As I create new worlds and characters, I aim to honor the rich tapestry of human experience and make stories that feel both universal and deeply personal.

A Quick Note on the Look of This Site
You might notice that the website looks a bit rough around the edges. I’m still getting the hang of WordPress and figuring out all the design tools, so please bear with me as I learn! I’m excited to improve it as I go, and I hope you’ll see it transform along with my journey here.
